Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I need to download an App on my smartphone to use GibCode?
No. GibCode is a cloud-based application that can be used by any device with internet access. This means that you can access your GibCode account simply by visiting GibCode.com from any device and authenticating your log-in information.
You may download our Facebook App that allows you to send or receive payments with anyone on your Facebook Friend List. However the App is tied to your Facebook Account and not to your smartphone. Simply visit www.GibCode.com/canvas/ to install.
Also, you may download a Free barcode scanner for your device allowing you to scan barcodes created through the GibCode System. Simply visit www.GibCode.com from your mobile device to access.
Does any information from a transaction get stored on my device?
No. As a cloud-based application, you could borrow a friend’s device to access your GibCode account and make a payment and hand the device back to your friend after you log-out or when the application logs you out and without worrying about any sensitive information being jeopardized.
Is GibCode secure?
Yes. Industry standards use 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protection and we use up to 2048-bit SSL. You will notice all payment pages are https and not http. We do not store complete card holder details and use tokenization to convert account numbers into a set of numbers that no other system can interpret. Click on the seals at the top of the page for verification.
What is PCI Compliance?
The PCI (Payment Card Industry) standard was developed by Visa and MasterCard to protect cardholder data. Quarterly PCI scans insure that we maintain a secure network, protect cardholder data, maintain a vulnerability management program, implement strong access control measures, regularly monitor and test networks, and maintain an information security policy. Click on the seal at the top of the page to view our PCI certificate.
